As a homeopath or homeopathic consultant Alex Christie believes homeopathy is a gentle, safe, and effective system of medicine. A homeopath knows that remedies are derived from natural substances including plants, minerals, and metals. Remedies are made from a very small amount of the active ingredient using a process of dilution and succession (vigorous shaking) so they are safe, non-toxic, and non-addictive. They are prepared in licensed laboratories under strict control and can be given in tablet, granule or liquid form.

 Homeopathic Consultation & Treatment
Since homeopathy treats the whole person, I ask not only about your symptoms but also how you feel emotionally and the unique way in which your symptoms affect you. Questions about your lifestyle, eating habits, sleep patterns, medical history, and state of mind help me to form a complete picture of you so I can prescribe the correct homoeopathic remedies for you.
Some questions are aimed at understanding your disease and others at deciding which constitutional group you fit into. Your activities, both occupational and recreational, likes and dislikes, and other generalities are discussed along with your emotional state. The most suitable remedies will then be prescribed for you after taking all of this into account.
I may give you advice on dietary and lifestyle changes that might benefit you. Hahnemann believed that nutrition was one of the major factors that could modify the body’s response to disease, especially when dealing with chronic illness.
I treat anything and everything and have much experience in eczema, asthma, hormonal imbalances: fibroids, poly cystic ovaries, painful periods, menopausal symptoms. I also treat emotional states and traumas i.e. deep grief, anger, depression. I treat families and ailments of infants and children.
Consultation Rates
I charge £75 per hour. The initial consultation is usually one hour, if necessary we will take 1 hour 15 minutes if complex health issues present and there is time. Follow-up consultations last typically 45 minutes to one hour, depending on your health needs, and cost between £60 and £75 accordingly.
How long treatment will take depends on your complaint. Acute states such as coughs, colds, fevers, childhood illnesses, and emotional upsets can respond rapidly, while long-term illnesses will need longer treatment. So a fever may respond to the remedy within 30 minutes to a few hours, allergies will take a few weeks to clear, and heart pathology or hormonal disturbances may take months to fully treat.
Cost of Remedies
Since patients require varying amounts of remedies these are paid for separately and cost mostly £7.50 each.
